Shop assistant: slow orders
A shop owner asks why orders slowed down last week.
The problem
The answer is one long block of text. It does not say where the facts came from, and it sounds equally sure about everything.
First version
Why did orders slow down last week?
Orders slowed down last week mainly because of a rise in shipping delays at your main carrier, combined with a change in how many people visited your shop on weekends. There was also a small increase in the number of people who left items in their cart, which usually means checkout felt harder than before. Your new product page went live on Tuesday, and customers may have found it confusing. In addition, a sale at a similar shop could have pulled shoppers away. Most shops see this kind of dip now and then, so it is probably nothing to worry about, but you might want to look at your shipping settings and your checkout page to be safe.
Improved
Output
Orders dropped after Tuesday, the day the new product page went live1. More shoppers also left on the payment step than the week before2.
The timing points to the new page, but the reports cannot prove it. A weekend dip would look similar.
