Make AI content obvious
A person is reading text. Can they tell who wrote it, the assistant or a human?
Mark what the assistant wrote, mark what a person changed, and let people go back.

Thanks for your order. It ships on Monday and should arrive by Thursday.
How to design it
- 1
Add a small mark
Put an AI label next to anything the assistant wrote.
- 2
Say what changed
After a person edits, show that the text is now edited.
- 3
Keep the original
Store the assistant's version so nothing is lost.
- 4
Let people revert
One tap to see or restore the first version.
Do and avoid
Do
- Use the same mark everywhere.
- Put the mark where people already look.
- Show both versions side by side when it helps.
- Explain in one line how the text was made.
Avoid
- Do not hide the mark in a footer.
- Do not keep the mark on text a person fully rewrote.
- Do not make the mark so loud it steals the page.
Why it works
People read text differently when they know who wrote it. They check an AI draft more closely, and they trust a colleague's words more. Without a mark, they cannot choose how carefully to read.
